Hi there! If you clicked here, you probably want to know a little more about yours truly and how/why I became a photographer. I’m happy and humbled that you’re interested.
I’m a wife and a mom. Getting back mediocre photos of my daughter from a cheap portrait studio in 2007 inspired me to pick up my husband’s dusty old dSLR. He forced me to learn to use it properly. I was annoyed at the time, but now I’m glad he did.
We live in the Twin Cities. Both my husband and I grew up here in Minnesota. The winters are long and cold and the mosquitoes are huge, but the lakes and the people are great.
I think the best feeling in the world is being loved for who you are; the worst feeling is being misunderstood. I have what people call a dry sense of humor (I just recently figured out what that means!). I can be very headstrong, which gets me ahead of myself sometimes.
I am most comfy in jeans, a soft t-shirt and a hoodie. My favorite food is cookies (no nuts, please!), preferably on the chewy side. I enjoy one-on-one time with a good friend, planning trips, reading, and athletic-type things (working out, hiking, sports, etc.). I love Jesus more than anyone.
I love taking photos, mostly of people. Found objects are fun, too, but the ones I shoot almost always relate to people. My take on photography is organic and authentic–everyone’s lifestyle is different, so why should their photos look the same as the last guy’s? Every little moment is worth capturing, the mundane and the crazy-beautiful. It is a total blessing that I can have such a blast and call it a job. And there is always, always something new to try or something to learn, which makes this line of work so exciting.
On my site you’ll see sneak peeks of work I’ve done for clients as well as snippets of my daily goings-on.
Thanks for stopping by to peek into my life and work!
